From the desk of the Director:
The senior center relies on daily volunteers to run smooth, consistent and uninterrupted services
Here is a list on how a senior can participate as a partner, to help ensure success in all programs, which comes in many different forms.
American Legion donated $4000 to the center to support the “Take a Vet to Lunch” program, to extend it into the summer.
Individual seniors donate their tax savings from senior shopping day to the senior center every week, equaling $60 in the month of May,
Five and Dime members share anywhere between $5 – $10 monthly, which are unrestricted funds that can be used for grant matches; flowers for memorial services; fuel for meals on wheels and the list goes on.
Alaskans donate a small percentage of their Permanent Fund Dividend, through the “Pick. Click. Give.” program, donating $1800 in 2019.
Volunteering at the center is priceless. Your time and effort helps everyone we serve, makes the senior center a happy place and is valuable support to our day-to-day services.
Come join us as we make happy history at the Seward Senior Center.
